About Me
As a teacher, researcher and activist in the fields of Arts Education and Childhood Studies, I am committed to activating spaces for trans-disciplinary, post-age, multimodal and multispecies collaborations. I aim to integrate my research, teaching and activism to enhance access for young South Africans to creative forms of meaning making and to the building of caring learning communities. Exploring the ‘languages’ of materials in making and sharing meaning my research practice focuses on creative and enquiry-based pedagogical and research approaches. I am part of a growing international community of Feminist New materialist scholars who refuse to separate education and knowledge-production from the political and ethical choices we face in a world plagued by inequality and eco-cide.
